The Ad Hoc Working Group on Long-term Cooperative Action under the Convention (AWG-LCA) was set up in the wake of the Bali Action Plan. Talks have advanced to reach an agreement at COP15 in Copenhagen in December 2009. The text of the talks is divided into 5 blocks:

  • Technology transfer

The Ad Hoc Working Group on Further Commitments for Annex I Parties under the Kyoto Protocol (AWG-KP) was set up in December 2005 at COP11 in Montreal.

Their purpose is to negotiate, within the framework of the Kyoto Protocol, the commitments of industrialised countries to reduce greenhouse gas emissions beyond 2012.
